PICTRIS’11
The time we spent during the holidays with the seniors had proved to be real fruitful. They were really helpful and informed us about anything useful happening around the college. This is how I and Athul came to know of the PICTRIS’11 workshop on PIC microcontrollers. After discussing with several faculties whether we, being in the first year, would be able to understand anything, we decided to join the workshop. But somehow that workshop went out of our minds and for some weeks we didn’t even think about it or did we register for it. Then when the date was nearing, our chat with one faculty brought us back on track and we ran to join the workshop. Meeting the faculty-in-charge of the workshop, to our dismay, found out that the seats were already filled. This time also the seniors came to our rescue! They too were involved in conducting this workshop and recommended us for joining. Finally he said that many of the students haven’t paid, so if we paid early we could get in. Our luck! We got in!
Hands-On!!
Right next day the workshop started. Initially there were some hours of theory taken by Br.Rajesh Kannan Sir, most of which we understood to some extend. We took notes, tried to understand all the new terms that were being used and then came the excitement!
We were taken to the VLSI Lab where they had set up computers loaded with the software for PIC coding- MPLAB. We started working on it and slowly understood the basics and wrote our first program!!
My First PIC Code
List p=16F887A #include p16F877A.inc ORG 0x00 GOTO Start ORG 0x20 Start BSF STATUS,RP0 MOVLW 0x00 MOVWF TRIS B BCF STATUS,RP0 MOVLW 0x40 MOVWF PORT B GOTO Start END
This simple program helped us learn how to configure different ports and also moving of values between registers to show final output in PORT B!
I am going to improve my skills in PIC coding during the coming days.
evrythng is fine……… i’m gonna try it dude.
its seems esy to make it
but that colour is botherin me…..
